We are on the road this week and were treated to the most amazing links course I have ever played. Arcadia Bluffs in Arcadia Michigan. It’s right on the lake/ocean (because it’s pretty much an ocean of water to most people) and today was what one fellow said, “a chamber of commerce day”, because is was so perfect. No wind, beautiful sun and just enough clouds to give the place un parallelled charm.
We dropped by on our way up through the state to a Neon run we are lighting up next week. Our hopes were that maybe they might want to do a night golf event, but when we drove up the drive it became clear that this was no municipal golf course. This was a 5 star gem of a golf course. As we enjoyed it, it became clear that the only reason Arcadia Bluffs has not had a PGA Tour event was because it’s not next to a big metropolian city with lots of hotels to accomodate the fans. Bottomline, this course is as impressive and challenging as Whistling Straights or any links course the Brits can throw at you. Maybe someday they will want to do a night golf event. But until then, I can only dream about playing it again. Bravo
